2023 Slow Yarn Crawl - PNW



Hi Fiber Buddies! We are excited to announce that we will be participating in this years PNW Slow Yarn Crawl. It begins May 26, and ends September 4, 2023.

This year's Slow Yarn Crawl theme is ​"Farm to Fiber". We have many shetland and alpaca yarns here at The Hook & Needle Nook that were locally raised and processed and would be perfect for knitting on theme! We also have some local alpaca fleece and beautiful, colorful batts that incorporate local fibers.

This year we are the Wild Card shop. That means that The Hook & Needle Nook can be used to complete any region. If you take a selfie with our shop sign and share it with #SYCWildCard, you will be entered into an extra prize drawing!

Online Slow Yarn Crawlers will receive a goodie bag when they make a purchase of at least $15. Purchases of under $15 are still eligible for a stamp, but not for the other goodies. If you are a Slow Yarn Crawler and you make an online purchase at our shop, please leave a note to let us know so we send your goodies! If you forgot to leave a note, give us a call so we are sure to send you your goodie bag.

We have 2 special patterns locally designed just for the Slow Yarn Crawl. One is knit and one is crochet, so there will be something for everyone! To get the pattern for free, you must visit The Hook & Needle Nook with your passport, or place an order online.

We are so excited to see all of the fiber artists participating in this event! We will have opportunities for you to complete many of the Challenge Experiences, and have a cozy nook where you can visit and work on your projects.

Summer Knit Along

It is time for another knit-along! With summer warming up, it is time to cast on a refreshing cotton top. We picked the Mangrove Tee! It is a cute botanically inspired top that would be perfect for hot weather when knit with cotton, or a good fall/winter tee if you chose to knit it with wool.
