Christmas in July Project Inspiration

 


Hello Fiber Buddies!  It is really hot and miserable outside!  Not exactly news, is it?  Don't despair!  The Nook Crew has news about how to stay cool and have some fun too.  We have cooked up a Christmas in July Special that will keep you indoors, cool, and safe.  When it is too hot to go out to shop, everyone shops online.  So we took some of your favorite yarns and put them on special for 15%-20% off.  And we have them all set up for online purchasing just so you don't have to get out in the heat.

Here is a list of some of the yarns and some pattern suggestions to get your creative juices flowing.  

For some cool, summer fashions, we have our summer yarns on special.  These include Berroco Spree (click here), Remix light (Click here), and Zinnia (Click here).

We also found some really neat patterns for each of these yarns.  Feast your eyes on these lovelys!


This tee and cardy are made with Spree by Berroco.  Spree is a wool and cotton blend and is so soft!  Cotton wool blends will carry  you through summer and into fall.  The cardy is great for those restaurants and theaters that are just too cold to enjoy.  You won't have a problem with this beautiful ensemble.   The pattern can be found here.



Zinnia is another beautiful summer yarn by Berroco.  It has viscose nubs in it that give the yarn a tweed-like look.  This lovely tee is a crowd pleaser and will definitely finish you summer up in cool comfort.  Zinnia is 93% cotton and 7% nylon.  Cotton is famous for being cool and comfortable.  The nylon gives the fiber strength so you don't have to worry about the garment losing shape.  The pattern can be found here.



                      
Another one of our favorites is Berroco Remix light.  It is just right for a cool tee and is made from recycled fibers.  Cool and light, this yarn will keep you comfortable anywhere you go.  The pattern can be found here 







And what about Christmas?  In July?  Some ideas you get for gifts take a good 6 months to create.  We have some lovely Aran yarns that make beautiful sweaters and cowls.  Cascades Friday Harbor is a wool/silk blend that makes into some wonderful fall/winter wearables.  Check out these lovely creations!



This cardigan has a lovely leaf patterned cable that runs up and down the sleeve and along the front of the sweater.  It is a classic for fall.  The pattern can be found here

Friday Harbor is not the only Aran weight yarn we have.  Cestari's Mt. Vernon Collection is a fine Merino wool, kettle dyed to give a rich palette of colors ideal for fair isle knitting or other color work.  Some ideas for these lovely yarns are shown below.  Go here for a variety of color work design ideas.




And we can't forget those little stocking stuffers that people count on getting at Christmas.  Cascade Nifty Cotton is so handy for making towels, wash cloths, dish towels, and scrubbies.  Here are a couple of ideas.

Grand Re-Opening Party & Cascade Yarn Tasting

Hi Fiber Buddies! We are unpacked and open for business at our new location! We are now located at 3808 North Monroe Street , in Spokane, Washington. We will be having a Grand Re-Opening Party & Cascade Yarn Tasting to celebrate our successful move on Saturday, the 27th of July . We will be open from 10 am to 4 pm on the 27th, so stop by anytime that is convenient for you! We will have sandwiches, chips, cake, and refreshing non-alcoholic beverages. We are Moving!

Hi Fiber Buddies!  The Hook & Needle Nook is moving! 🥳 We are moving just up the street to 3808 North Monroe Street . This shop was previously home to the Gaming Grotto, if you want to look the location up. (It has its own thermostat!) Join us for a Moving Party on Saturday, June 22 , where we will begin to pack yarn. We have movers scheduled for Friday, June 28 to help us move our big heavy furniture and displays. It is our hope to be open for business at 3808 North Monroe Street in early July.
