Summer Top KAL/CAL
Join us in making some tops to wear this summer!
We'll meet on Saturdays, beginning June 21st from 1 to 3 pm in the afternoon. We will also be celebrating the summer solstice on the 21st, so come on by to join in on the festivities!
We are on Monroe, in the Garland Shopping District. If you know where the Garland Theater is, we are behind the Japanese restaurant that is across the street.
for Knitters
Pattern: SABAI Top by Susanne Müller
Recommended yarns:
- Malabrigo Susurro
- Susurro is a single ply blend of 50% Mulberry silk, 25% Merino, and 25% Linen. The Merino adds the softness and durability of wool. The Mulberry Silk adds a beautiful shine and silky touch to the yarn. The linen gives many of the colorways a tweed effect.
- Cascade Noble Cotton
- A smooth and durable yarn with a lovely sheen. It is perfect for summer garments and everyday wear! Noble Cotton is spun from 100% mercerized long staple cotton which boosts the fibers’ strength, color depth and luster.
- Cascade Ultra Pima
- A joy to work with and to wear! This 100% Pima cotton yarn provides superior strength and wearability as well as silky softness. Cotton is ideal for warm-weather garments as it allows the body to breathe, wicking away moisture and not retaining heat.
- Cascade Pandamonium
- Delightfully soft and silky, Pandamonium is a DK weight blend of 55% Cotton and 45% Viscose from Bamboo. This elegant, lightweight yarn offers drape, breathability, and strength.
- Cascade Sarasota
- The perfect combination of cotton and acrylic! It makes a lovely warm weather fabric, and is durable and easy to care for.

Pattern: Scrappy Granny Tee by Emily Marie Davies
Recommended yarns:
- The author of this pattern wrote it to use up your beautiful fingering weight yarn scraps!
Take a dive into your stash, or browse some of the beautiful colors available below. - Cotton Sox
- A soft, lightweight blend of cotton and nylon.
- Queensland Perth
- unlike the other KAL/CAL yarns, this one is wool! Perth has long color changes in it, and would be absolutely stunning in this top! It will make a slightly warmer top, but it will be lovely on the not so hot days.
