Image
We love our Northwest Indy Dyers here at The Nook. The Nook stocks a variety of local yarn dyer's yarns and love to support their small businesses and creative genius! Finding Your Fiber Art Niche

Image
I found my fiber art niche over years of playing with yarn, thread, and material.  My Mother taught me how to embroider, sew, and crochet when I was a girl.  We used to get a small magazine called "The Workbasket" and it was full of all kinds of needle craft patterns and ideas.  I could hardly wait for the new one to come in the mail!  I taught myself how to knit and the ladies in my knit night group taught me how to spin on a spindle and then a wheel.  I recently found out my great grandmother Amanda was a master weaver.  My cousin still has a bedspread she wove and despite the fact that it is over 100 years old, it is still in good condition.  I am anxious to start weaving my handspun into something beautiful!  My fiber niche?  EVERYTHING  that has anything to do with creating something beautiful with fiber! If you want to find your niche, start your fiber journey at The Nook.  We teach classes and I have many different ...

The Hospitality of the Nook

At The Hook and Needle Nook  you will find an amazingly hospitable place to sit and knit, crochet, or spin.  We always have refreshments on hand, a smile, and a comfortable place to sit.  AND lots of friendly advice on your pet projects. Whether you are having trouble with a particular pattern or yarn you are currently working on, or you need some help finding yarn and a pattern, you can start at The Nook. We are wonderful enablers and there are great instructors here. We always have time to help with the fiber arts. If you are looking for a wheel or a loom, we would love to show you what we have on hand. In addition, we will even let you take them for a spin. The idea is to have a nice relaxed place where you can calmly craft, shop or ask for help. Even with Covid implementations (masks and social distancing) we continue to keep up the comradery. Have a group that gets together to get crafty?  Contact us!   We would be happy to have your group meet here....
