Dreaming of Spring Knit-Along

Hi Fiber Buddies! The spring equinox is just over 3 weeks away. The days are getting longer, the snow is melting, and the birds are starting to sing. We have our projects for the upcoming warm season on our minds.

We would like to invite you to join us for a knit-a-long to make a Spring/Summer top with us!

When:

Begins Saturday morning, February 18th from 10:30 to 12:30

We will meet every Saturday morning for 5 weeks.

Project details:

Pattern: Artemesia by the Berroco Design Team

Suggested yarn: Berroco Isola

Sizing:

It is recommended to pick a size with approximately 2 – 4” positive ease.

The bust measurement of the finished top: (35, 40, 45, 50) [56, 61, 66½, 70] inches

Balls of Isola needed for each size: (3, 3, 4, 4) [4, 5, 5, 6]

Alternate yarn ideas:

Some of these yarns are slightly different weights than Isola, making it doubly important to check your gauge.

  • Berroco Zinnia - a DK weight cotton yarn with a tweedy texture and a dash of nylon to help it wear well.

  • Berroco Summer Sesame - a self-striping cotton blend with lovely texture. It is advertised as a worsted weight, but it looks light enough for this pattern.

  • Malabrigo Susurro - a single ply sport/DK weight blend of mulberry silk, flax, and merino wool available in beautiful kettle dyed colorways. This option would make a particularly luxurious top.

  • Elemental Affects Coastal - a 3 ply, sport weight yarn that is a blend of US Shaniko wool, mulberry silk, and Belgian flax.

  • Cascade Ultra Pima - a 4 ply, 100% pima cotton, DK weight yarn. This is the only option we have for this top that is 100% cotton.

  • Cascade Sarasota - a cotton / acrylic blend. This option is affordable, perfect for summer wear, and will be easy to care for.

  • Cascade Cherub DK - a nylon and acrylic blend. This option is affordable, soft, silky and would be very easy to care for.

We hope to see you there!
