Summer Top KAL/CAL

We will be having a Grand Re-Opening Party & Cascade Yarn Tasting to celebrate our successful move on Saturday, the 27th of July . We will be open from 10 am to 4 pm on the 27th, so stop by anytime that is convenient for you! We will have sandwiches, chips, cake, and refreshing non-alcoholic beverages. We are Moving!

Hi Fiber Buddies!  The Hook & Needle Nook is moving! 🥳 We are moving just up the street to 3808 North Monroe Street . This shop was previously home to the Gaming Grotto, if you want to look the location up. (It has its own thermostat!) Join us for a Moving Party on Saturday, June 22 , where we will begin to pack yarn. We have movers scheduled for Friday, June 28 to help us move our big heavy furniture and displays. It is our hope to be open for business at 3808 North Monroe Street in early July.

Mother's Day KAL/CAL 2024

Hi Fiber Buddies!  It is almost Mother's Day, and we wanted to invite you all to celebrate with us! Join us on Saturday, May 11th, from 1 to 4 pm. We will be celebrating the Mothers in our lives, and starting a small KAL/CAL together. The KAL/CAL will run until June 1st.  The patterns are simple enough that we should be able to finish and wear them by the 2nd!! For the KAL, we will be knitting the Puaka Shawlette by Francoise Danoy. To knit this airy & elegant shawlette, you will need one skein of fingering weight yarn. Puaka is Māori for flower, and the lace edge is beautifully botanical. For the CAL, we will be starting the Slow Wave Infinity Scarf by Lucienne Crochet. This cowl was named after the deepest, most restful part of our sleep; as you crochet, feel yourself get into the rhythm and relax. 2024 Local Yarn Store Day at The Hook & Needle Nook

Hi Fiber Buddies! We are excited to invite you to celebrate Local Yarn Store Day with us! Join us on Saturday, April 27th, to celebrate the shop and the local fiber art community. Local Yarn Store Day was created by TNNA to support small businesses that carry fiber art supplies and equipment. This event brings together the local community of knitters, crocheters, spinners, weavers, and felters to celebrate their crafts and share ideas with like-minded artists. We will be having a trunk show for Charlotte of HMLloyd Mercantile LLC's hand spun yarn! We are planning on starting our tops on February 15th, during our knit group which meets from 1-4pm. You can find us at 1508 North Monroe Street, Spokane, Washington. Hi Fiber Buddies! We have 2 of the cutest stash busting projects to share with you. These cozy crochet cowls were designed to be made with worsted weight yarn held double, and they can be worn in so many different ways! If you purchase the yarn for these cowls here at the shop, we can give you the pattern for free! You can browse our worsted weight yarn here. Barbie Inspired Infinity Scarf by The Whispering Moss You will need 4 different colors of yarn and approximately 210 yards of each. You can also use this pattern as a stash buster. Use the yarn you have and follow the instructions for color changes wherever your yarn takes you! (Instructions for this are included as well.) As long as you have about 840-900 yards total of yarn, you should be good to go! Find the pattern here on Ravelry. Christmas in July Project Inspiration

  Hello Fiber Buddies!  It is really hot and miserable outside!  Not exactly news, is it?  Don't despair!  The Nook Crew has news about how to stay cool and have some fun too.  We have cooked up a Christmas in July Special that will keep you indoors, cool, and safe.  When it is too hot to go out to shop, everyone shops online.  So we took some of your favorite yarns and put them on special for 15%-20% off.  And we have them all set up for online purchasing just so you don't have to get out in the heat. Here is a list of some of the yarns and some pattern suggestions to get your creative juices flowing.   For some cool, summer fashions, we have our summer yarns on special.  These include Berroco Spree ( click here) , Remix light ( Click here ), and Zinnia ( Click here ). Summer Knit Along

It is time for another knit-along! With summer warming up, it is time to cast on a refreshing cotton top. We picked the Mangrove Tee! It is a cute botanically inspired top that would be perfect for hot weather when knit with cotton, or a good fall/winter tee if you chose to knit it with wool. 2023 Slow Yarn Crawl - PNW

Hi Fiber Buddies! We are excited to announce that we will be participating in this years PNW Slow Yarn Crawl. It begins May 26, and ends September 4, 2023. This year's Slow Yarn Crawl theme is  ​"Farm to Fiber". We have many shetland and alpaca yarns here at The Hook & Needle Nook that were locally raised and processed and would be perfect for knitting on theme! We also have some local alpaca fleece and beautiful, colorful batts that incorporate local fibers. This year we are the Wild Card shop. That means that The Hook & Needle Nook can be used to complete any region. If you take a selfie with our shop sign and share it with #SYCWildCard, you will be entered into an extra prize drawing! Mother's Day Knit Along

Join us for a Mother-Daughter Knit or Crochet Along in honor of Mother's Day!  Bring your mother or daughter whether they knit or crochet or not, the idea is to have a fun bonding time with family. If you are a mother or a daughter and your family isn't available, you are still welcome to join us! We will meet on Saturdays, May 13, 20, and 27 from 1pm to 4pm. Hi Fiber Buddies! The weather outside is frightful, but knitting is so delightful! Cold weather is here, a big snow storm is on the way, and we have Christmas & cozy wool projects on our minds. We have extended our holiday specials, so now is the perfect time to stock up on supplies. We are not sure we will be able to be open tomorrow (11-30-2022) when the storm hits.
